Statement on PPIC Poll Showing Strong Opposition to Prop 10, October 24, 2018
SACRAMENTO – The No on Prop 10 campaign, Californians for Responsible Housing, issued the following statement on the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) showing Proposition 10 trailing by a 25-60 percent margin:
“The poll reflects that both renters and homeowners understand that Prop 10 will worsen California’s affordable housing crisis, reducing property values and freezing the construction of housing for low- and middle-income families that we desperately need.” – Steven Maviglio, No on Prop 10 spokesperson.
According to the PPIC, “Opposition to Proposition 10 has increased since September (48% no, 36% yes, 16% undecided). Today, majorities across parties would vote no on the measure. Across all regions, less than a third of likely voters say they will vote yes. Although renters are more likely than homeowners to support Proposition 10 (34% to 22%), majorities in both groups would vote no if the election were held today. Indeed, majorities across all demographic groups would vote no.”
